At the heart of Bayer’s societal engagement is a dedicated team working with various partners to sustainably improve our planet and its people. 


Our vision globally is to catalyze science impact and social innovation for a world with Health for All and Hunger for None. We are doing this by supporting the development of scientific breakthroughs, as well as by levering the power of social innovation and entrepreneurialism to enable communities to prosper.


Over last 5 years (including the newly acquired crop science business) Bayer provided over INR 100 crores towards Corporate Societal Engagement programs focused on rural development.

The year 2019 witnessed a lot of changes with the Monsanto acquisition and saw a marked shift in the CSE strategy with new elements being included. With a strong alignment to our business objectives, our focus is on being more innovative and impactful in our initiatives, backed by latest technology.

Bayer Foundation India formerly known as Bayer Prayas Association is a not-for-profit Indian company setup in the year 2011, and registered under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956.  BPA is also registered under U/S 12 A and 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961. Furthermore, the Association is certified under FCRA for foreign contributions under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).


The objectives of Bayer Foundation India formerly known as Bayer Prayas Association are:

  • To undertake the task of Social Economic and Educational upliftment of general public, irrespective of gender & communities
  • To undertake activities. for the deprived, irrespective of their location, to support innovations & innovators
  • To align with the CSR provision of companies Act, 2013.

The Company’s CSE programs are aligned with global objectives of Bayer while pursuing a long-term, well planned, multi-stakeholder participatory approach resulting in a measurable impact on targeted communities.
