Bayer Group is a global enterprise with companies in more than 80 countries. Our South Asia headquarters are located in Thane, Maharashtra. We have 7 manufacturing sites (including one global site) as well as 5 breeding and R&D sites across India. Our Centers of Excellence cater to global audiences in the fields of procurement, engineering & technology, data science, information technology for human resources, finance support, etc.
Manufacturing
The Bayer Vapi site in Gujarat, which began production in 1992, is the single largest synthetic pyrethroids production facility in the world.
The Himatnagar site in Gujarat commenced operations in 1991. The site is engaged in manufacturing of new generation formulations like suspension concentrates (SC), water dispersible granules (WG) and oil dispersion (OD). It is also the major exporter of WG Products for the Crop Science Division.
The Silvassa manufacturing site is one of Bayer’s key agrochemical manufacturing sites in India and has been in operation for over 28 years now. This site located in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu in Western India. It is one of Bayer’s biggest herbicide manufacturing sites in South Asia.
All Consumer Health products are manufactured locally through third parties providing a boost to local entrepreneurship and jobs in India.
Breeding
The Bayer Research and Development Center (BRDC) is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and serves as a high-potential research and development center supporting the company’s broader India strategy, with a strong focus on corn and vegetable breeding.
The Multi-Crop Breeding Station (MCBS) located in Chandippa, Telangana, is a high-tech breeding & trait development (B&TD) station to support activities for rice growers across Asia. MCBS is one of the biggest sites of Bayer Bioscience Private Limited in India and aims to deliver high‑performing, climate‑resilient Arize™ rice hybrids and germplasm optimized for improving farmer yields, reducing input needs, and supporting sustainable intensification at scale.
Seed Processing
The 41.18 acres wide Toopran site at Hyderabad, which was founded in 1994, and plays a significant role in Bayer's strategy in India by focusing on seed storage, processing, packing, and seed drying. It supports key crops, notably rice, and serves both domestic and export markets, contributing to Bayer's global supply chain.
The Pragnapur seed processing site, founded in 2014 and spread over approximately 22 acres of land by Prasad Seeds Pvt Ltd. is for exclusive use by Bayer BioScience Private Limited and has a state-of-the-art processing, drying and storage facility for rice seeds with 35,000 MT storage capacity.
The Shamirpet site, which was established in 2007 and is located approximately 40 kms from Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana, has been built on around 24.1 acres of land that deploys the latest techniques in seed conditioning, treatment, drying and packaging for corn, rice and vegetables.
The seed processing plant, in Deulgaon Raja was set up in 2017 and is engaged in the production of high-yielding hybrid vegetable seeds for tomato, hot pepper, sweet pepper, melon, watermelon & cucumber. Spread across 11 acres, the facility at Deulgaon Raja, in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra is integral in the vision of facilitating the state towards becoming a 'Seed Hub'.

Global Business Services India (part of Bayer Global Business Services network)
With the purpose of Powering our Business to enable Health for all, Hunger for none, GBS India is a growing team of close to 700+ colleagues delivering to the GBS strategy. The center provides support for traditional services like Global Finance, Ordering, Procurement, Invoice Processing & Payments, Cash Application & Credit Management, Master Data Management, Mobility & Contingent Workforce and Enterprise services like CORE Data Management, Project Management, Intelligent Automation, Operational Excellence for Bayer organization across the countries in North America, South America, Europe, Africa & APAC and in multiple languages. The site which has been operational since 2005 delivers on business processes in an efficient and effective manner, thereby generating business value through operational excellence. The site has a gender diversity ratio of 1:1 and employs differently yet strongly abled members (speech, hearing and visually impaired), acid attack survivors as well as the LGBTQIA+ community.
Data Sciences & Analytics (DS&A) Centre at Hyderabad
Through the DS&A team set up in 2018, Bayer is generating global employment opportunities in India in the Data Sciences & Analytics (DS&A) and Clinical Research Operations (CRO) space. The DS&A site complements Bayer‘s global team spread across Germany, USA, China, UK, and Japan.
