Nutrition Initiatives

Nutrition Banner 1

Malnutrition continues to remain one of the most pressing public health challenges, affecting millions of children and adults. This not only hinders physical and cognitive development but also perpetuates cycles of poverty and inequality. Women and children remain particularly vulnerable, with maternal nutrition, reproductive health, and child malnutrition presenting critical concerns that have far-reaching implications on family well-being and community progress.

Aligned with Bayer’s vision “Health for All”, our nutrition initiatives focus on Nutritional Security and Health for women and children. By leveraging the AAA model (ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff, and ANMs) and complementing government programmes, Bayer is working to improve nutritional index, raise awareness, and strengthen frontline health workers.

Our efforts emphasize on:

  • Expanding healthcare access for adolescent girls, pregnant women, and young children.
  • Building awareness on nutrition, balanced diets, and preventive care including cervical cancer.
  • Upskilling frontline health workers to deliver long-term impact.

Community Health Interventions in Uttar Pradesh

This project aims to strengthen community-level interventions with a specific focus on nutrition, ensuring women and children have access to the knowledge and resources they need for healthier lives. Activities include nutrition workshops, awareness sessions, and capacity-building programmes for health workers. This project is being implemented across the districts of Lucknow, Siddharthnagar, and Varanasi, reaching over 8.5 lakh beneficiaries in 1,000 villages.

Transforming Maternal & Child Health-Nutrition Outcomes in Madhya Pradesh

This program focuses on the first 1,000 days of life, a crucial period for a child’s growth and brain development. The project covers the districts of Morena and Chhindwara and will benefit over 2 lakh community members across 800 villages.

Targeted interventions include:

  • Nutritional education for mothers and families.
  • Anaemia reduction in women and adolescent girls.
  • Improved healthcare access for maternal and child health.

Through these interventions, Bayer is supporting the health, and nutrition needs of women and children while contributing to the development of healthier communities. By working with local partners, training health workers, and conducting awareness programmes, we aim to help reduce health inequities.
