The Bayer Group is a global enterprise with companies in almost every country. Our South Asia headquarters are located in Thane, Maharashtra. We have 7 manufacturing sites (including one global site) as well as 4 breeding and R&D sites across India. Our many Centers of Excellence cater to global audiences in the fields of procurement, engineering & technology, data science, information technology for human resources, finance support, etc.
The Bayer Vapi site in Gujarat, which began production in 1992, is the single largest synthetic pyrethroids production facility in the world.
The Himatnagar site in Gujarat commenced operations in 1991 with the production of folidol dust formulations, suspension concentrates (SC), water dispersible granules (WG) and oil dispersion (OD). Today, the site is a major exporter of WG products to various regions across the globe.
The Silvassa site in Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, has been in operation since 1996 and manufactures key herbicides for Bayer.
Around 50% of the sales of Bayer Zydus Pharma and the Animal Health businesses as well as 100% of those from Consumer Health are from products manufactured locally through third parties providing a boost to local entrepreneurship and jobs in India.
Spread across 117 acres, our Mega Breeding Station (MBS) at Kallinayakanahalli in Chikaballapur district, Bangalore, is a ‘Centre for Excellence’ for research in hybrid seeds and represents the majority of Indian corn and vegetable market.
Established in 2016, our 5.6 acre Maize Breeding Centre located at Batheda Ki Sarai, Daroli, Udaipur has all aspects of R&D infrastructure in the same location - labs, open fields for trials, greenhouses, etc.
The Multi-Crop Breeding Station (MCBS) in Chandippa near Hyderabad, dates back to 2013 is spread over 14.4 hectares and strategically supports breeding and trait development (B&TD) activities for rice, cotton and millets.
We have seed processing plants at various locations in and around Hyderabad.
The 16.8 acres wide Toopran site at Hyderabad, which was founded in 1995, includes a hybrid seed plant, a foundation seed plant as well as a foundation seed farm that undertakes parental seed multiplication, processing, packaging, drying and storage of millet, mustard, rice and cotton seeds.
The Pragnapur seed processing site, founded in 2013 and spread over approximately 16 hectares of land, by Prasad Seeds Pvt Ltd. is for exclusive use by Bayer BioScience Private Limited and has a state-of-the-art processing, drying and storage facility for rice seeds with 30,000 MT storage capacity.
The Shamirpet site, which was established in 2007 and is located approximately 40 kms from Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana, has been built on around 32 acres of land and it includes a maize conditioning plant that deploys the latest techniques in seed conditioning, treatment, drying and packaging and has a capacity to condition and package approximately 15 million units of seeds a year.
Established in 2017 and spread across 10 acres, the facility at Deulgaon Raja, in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra works with over 700 farmers from across 200 villages to produce high quality seeds for export that include tomato, hot pepper, sweet pepper, melon and watermelon.

Service Centre Bangalore (part of Global Shared Service Centre Delivery Network)
With a growing team of close to 400 colleagues, the center provides support for finance accounting, procurement, invoice processing & payments, cash applications, global transformation & process management for Bayer offices across 50 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Africa & A-PAC and in 25 global languages. The site which has been operational since 2005 and is today part of a global network of Service Centers known as Shared Services Centre Delivery Network, through which select business processes are executed in an efficient, smart, transparent, and consolidated manner, thereby generating value for Bayer worldwide. The site has a gender diversity ratio of 1:1 and employs differently yet strongly-abled members (speech, hearing and visually impaired), acid attack survivors as well as the LGBTQIA+ community.
Data Sciences & Analytics (DS&A) Centre at Hyderabad
Through the DS&A team set up in 2018, Bayer is generating global employment opportunities in India in the Data Sciences & Analytics (DS&A) and Clinical Research Operations (CRO) space. The DS&A site which is set to ramp up in size before the end of this year will complement Bayer‘s global team spread across Germany, USA, China, UK, and Japan.
