Inspiring young minds with science
- Bayer’s worldwide Making Science Make Sense (MSMS) initiative uses fun hands-on science experiments to inspire kids of class 5 and 6
- Over 550 students from four schools in Himatnagar, Gujarat to participate in MSMS from September 11 – 14, 2019.
Mumbai, September 11, 2019: As a life science company, Bayer understands the integral role science plays in everyday life. Making Science Make Sense (MSMS), Bayer’s companywide education initiative, seeks to advance science literacy through hands-on, inquiry-based learning and employee volunteerism.
“We want to educate, engage and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, technologists and innovators. And the best time to do this is when they are introduced to science in schools. ‘Making Science Make Sense’ is a unique opportunity to mould perceptions on the unlimited possibilities that science has to offer,” shares D. Together with our MSMS partners and employee volunteers, Bayer conducts fun-filled experiments for students of Class 5 and 6 as it is in these years that science is introduced in schools as a full - fledged subject. The program includes live demonstrations, experiments and interactive sessions to enhance the learning experience and make sure that science is taught in a way that’s enjoyable and fun. The aim is to encourage students to pursue science-related higher education.
Over 550 students from Mount Carmel School, St. Xavier’s High School, New English Higher Secondary School and Rumi English School in Himatnagar will participate in this program from September 11 to September 14, 2019. The MSMS program will also be conducted in Vapi, Gujarat in 2019 and will cover over 750 students.
The MSMS program was launched in India in 2007 and has since then covered more than 75000 students, across the country including cities like Mumbai, Himatnagar, Ankleshwar, Vapi and Greater Noida.
This year, Bayer Prayas, a section 8 company and non-profit organization of Bayer in India, which undertakes Corporate Societal Engagement (CSE) activities, has partnered with AVK Education Pvt. Ltd, a Mumbai based education consultancy firm for the MSMS project.
