Aparna Rao is the Head of Bayer’s Shared Services Centre in Bangalore since January 2019. 

 

As Head of Bayer’s Shared Service Centre at Bangalore, Aparna Rao leads a growing team of colleagues that provide support for finance, accounting, procurement, global transformation and process management for Bayer across 50 countries and in multiple global languages. She is a passionate leader who drives innovative, customer focused and accountable teams to experiment with new ideas that support business development and ensure business processes are executed in an efficient and consolidated manner, thereby generating value for Bayer worldwide.

 

Did you know?

Aparna knows basic Arabic and German in addition to English, Hindi and Kannada. In her free time, she likes to read and paint, or try out different spiritual practices and meditation techniques.

Aparna passionately believes in the capability and value addition of Global Business Services (GBS) and has close to twenty years of expertise in this area. She started her GBS journey with Hewlett Packard followed by Tesco. She joined Monsanto in 2012 and also went on to become a Global Process Owner in 2016. As part of the Monsanto acquisition, Aparna joined Bayer’s Shared Service Center Delivery Network (SSCDN) leadership team in 2019. She is now also part of the Bayer South Asia Leadership Team (SALT) since February 2021 and part of the Global Inclusion and diversity council for Enabling functions since December 2020. As an ambassador of inclusion, she strives to make people belong and promotes better representation of many facets of diversity.

 

Aparna graduated from Bangalore University with a degree in Commerce, followed by a professional course at the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) and an advanced diploma in Global Business Services by Hackett.
